![]() ![]() Glad to hear that! Yes I'm on the latest BIOS for my motherboard released two weeks ago. I think setting UCLK=MEMCLK is what might have finally done it, but we'll see. In Ryzen Master, the setting is called UCLK Mode and it's set to On if UCLK=MEMCLK." Basically, the alternative is to run UCLK at half the speed of MEMCLK (this is what the default setting of Auto does) and that is suboptimal. In the Asus BIOS, the setting is hidden under Advanced -> AMD Overclocking -> Accept -> DDR and Infinity Fabric Frequency/Timings -> Infinity Fabric Frequency and Dividers -> UCLK DIV1 Mode -> UCLK=MEMCLK. "I finally found the corresponding BIOS (for Crosshair X670E Extreme) and Ryzen Master settings. One other tweak I made to the BIOS was to do the following change ( courtesy of planetbeing on the Asus forums): I *just* updated the BIOS and I think it's stable. #Mem auto expo updateI reached out to Asus and G.Skill, Asus confirmed it was not supported but should work G.Skill said to update BIOS. Oddly, the X670E is on the TZ5NR QVL, but not vice versa. I was running mostly fine at 4800, but it was highly unstable on EXPO I and EXPO II. ![]() Pick, Assemble and Install: Video Guide. No intentionally harmful, misleading or joke advice. No excessive posting (more than one submission in 24 hours). No selling, trading or requests for valuation. ![]() No self-promotion, advertising, begging, or surveys. No submissions about memes, jokes, meta, or hypothetical / dream builds. No titles that are all-caps, clickbait, PSAs, pro-tips or contain emoji. No submissions about retailer or customer service experiences. No submissions about sales, deals or unauthorized giveaways. No submissions about hardware news, rumors, or reviews. Please keep in mind that we are here to help you build a computer, not to build it for you. at the end it said I can go -27 on all cores, except a couple -25.Submit Build Help/Ready post Submit Troubleshooting post Submit other post New Here? Maybe it's better to put the values directly in bios and dont rely on softwares, especially with all this drama going on. finger crossedĮDIT: ah, I uninstalled Ryzen Master, dont like the way it works. Have tested it for few days, with sporadic y-cruncher tests, cinebench runs, long sessions of multiplayer games (OW2 for example, historically has been always very sensitive to unstable cpu/ram)Īnd also some davinci resolve work, rendering and so on, no crashes so far. From what I understand this is the intended behavior. This way the processes labeled as game by xbox bar will be allocated to vcache CCD0, and frequency CCD1 gets parked. ![]() I know "Auto" should be equivalent to "Driver" but Im not so sure it works 100%, so I forced it and let amd driver/xbox to do their things. Only way I can have a proper scheduling is:Ī) disable PBO fmax override, leave only CO enabledī) force CPPC option to "Driver". Weird things happen when forcing a fmax override, for example threads that should be on the frequency cores are running on the vcache CCD. #Mem auto expo driversPBO can break the windows scheduler, even with latest amd drivers installed. Only instability I got was when I tried fclock to 2067 (I was testing lower VDDQ/VDDIO, could be also the reason)Ībout the PBO boost override mentioned before, I already talked about it in this thread, just go back in the pages. #Mem auto expo manualThere's a hidden bios voice regarding those two voltages: VDDQ/VDDIO can be "separated" or not, when I put manual values It changes automaticaly another bios option and I dont know if this can lead to instability. I tried lowering VDDQ and VDDIO to 1.25, but there's something strange happening when I do so, had to reset cmos to solve my incompetence. I've set a manual 1.25V override in SoC instead of 1.35 Auto, bit scared of what's going on High Effiency mode "Tighter", with "Tighest" one I have less latency but I see too many regressions on bench scores.įew timings corrections here and there (tRAS, tRC WRSCL) PBO advanced MB limits -15 all cores, no boost override (read later why) ![]()
